Thursday’s Newberry Country Food Project collection showed once again what our community can accomplish when we come together with purpose and compassion. Across all participating organizations, 143 green bags were donated, totaling 2,149 pounds of shelf‑stable food, and 158 pounds of hygiene items. Every contribution — every bag filled, every hour volunteered — helped strengthen the safety net for families in our rural Newberry County region.
